For the past 3 years, Rachel has been dancing for Cirque du Soleil’s MYSTÉRE in Treasure Island in Las Vegas

Born in Calgary, Alberta Canada, Rachel Nelson trained at the School of Alberta Ballet and Alberta Ballet II where she performed a variety of works choreographed by Ben Stevenson, Flavia Vallone, Stanton Welch and Edmund Stripe. Rachel joined Nevada Ballet Theatre (NBT) as a Company Artist in 2015 and, since that time, has performed in various works including several ballets by George Balanchine including Serenade – dancing the role of “Dark Angel”, as well as the role of “Big Swan” in Ben Stevenson’s Swan Lake. Through each season she danced lead roles in NBT’s production of The Nutcracker including “Sugar Plum Fairy”, “Winter Fairy” Pas De Deux and “Arabian”. Rachel worked with choreographers Lauren Lovette and Nicolo Fonte most recently in her last season with NBT in 2022. Rachel has choreographed and danced in works for A Choreographers’ Showcase in collaboration with CDS as well as performed in CDS’s annual One Night For One Drop in 2018 as well as the recent 2026 edition.
